WHAT IS ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT ?
The endoscopic brow lift procedure is a procedure designed to elevate droopy brows. The traditional open brow lift required a long incision across the hairline. While it is the most effective technique, it is perceived to be invasive. The endoscopic lift is done through 3-5 small incisions hidden in the hair. The elevation is done with cameras through these incisions, carefully lifting the forehead and brow skin from the underlying tissues. Once the forehead is elevated the brows are pulled up and anchored to the underlying bone using variety of available techniques (screw, endotynes etc). The incisions are then closed with sutures or clips.
TRADITIONAL OPEN BROW LIFT
The second method is a traditional or “open” brow lift surgery. It is generally recommended for patients who require removal of a significant amount of skin, or those who exhibit more progressed signs of aging. During this procedure, Dr. Deutsch makes a larger incision across the hairline, beginning at the level of the ears and going up around the hairline. He then removes any excess tissue and pulls the skin up to smooth wrinkles closing the incision with sutures.
In either case, the brow lift procedure typically takes between 1 – 2 hours, and is usually performed in our medical office facility or an outpatient surgery center under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.
WHAT IS ENDOTINE?
It is a medical equipment which is designed particularly to use for lifting and stretching skin. It can spread power well and is certified standard from US FDA (United States Food and Drug Association).
